Duva sends your application's emails: confirmations, receipts, password resets, notifications. Here is what it is, where its name comes from and what guides it.
What Duva is
Duva is a transactional email service offered through an API. You add your domain, publish a few DNS records, and your application sends its messages: one key per domain, your own sender identity and tracking of every delivery, recipient by recipient.
It is hosted in Canada, in Beauharnois (Quebec), with OVHcloud.
Why “Duva”?
In Swedish, “duva” means dove or pigeon: a single word for both.
The carrier pigeon is the classic image of the reliable messenger: it carries a short, precise message and finds its destination. That is what we expect from a transactional email — a receipt, a code, a reset link — which must arrive, in the right place, at the right time.
Our logo picks up this image: a dove in flight inside a hexagonal medallion.
Where Duva comes from
Duva was born from the needs of our own applications: sending transactional email, knowing what becomes of it and keeping control of the data. We built it for them first, and we are now opening it to others, by invitation for the time being.

Privacy by default
Open and click tracking is off until you ask for it, and the content of emails is deleted after 30 days.

Your emails go out under your domain name, with your own DKIM signature.
